This website is designed to help researchers receiving new grants for human subjects research from the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) become familiar with the expectations surrounding the sharing of their data and the process set up to deposit and share those data through the NIAAA Data Archive (NIAAA_DA). Beginning with a Funding Opportunity Announcement, to which you might submit an application, the website walks you through what to expect at each step in the process - your grant application, what happens after it is awarded, and how to proceed through the tasks involved in sharing your data. NIAAA_DA shares an infrastructure with its sister database, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Data Archive (NDA). To avoid confusion, hereafter this infrastructure will be referred to as NDA.
