Please name your data package and select additional options below. Your data package name must start with a letter and cannot include special characters.

* You MUST select this option if you plan on downloading raw data files (e.g., MRI, genomic, raw behavioral data).

Based on the combination of your filters and selections on the landing Page 0 distinct subjects are currently selected. Click the Continue button to clear the currently selected filters and return all data for these subjects, unfiltered.

Data Packaging Page

The Data Packaging Page displays the NDA Collections and Data Structures selected by the filters added to your Filter Cart. Log in, if not already authenticated, then interactively choose which Permissions Groups, NDA Collections, or individual datasets to include by selecting them.

The Data Structures by Category column updates to display the number of subjects that are included with your selections. Choose which Data Structures to include, and if necessary select individual rows within a Data Structure to include by using the inspect icon next to the Data Structure.

After making your choices, select 'Create Data Package' or 'Add Data to Study' to include your selections in a data package, or add them to a Study cohort.

To access packages you have created, open the Data Packages page from your user profile.

Researchers who share data through NDA, or who conduct a secondary analysis on data shared through NDA, are expected as part of the Terms of Use to report their results using the NDA Study feature. An NDA Study links a finding, data release, or publication directly to the underlying subject-level records for the data defined. Automatically, the NDA Study provides attribution (i.e. credit) for those that contributed the data. Each NDA Study is also issued a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which is expected to be referenced in the publication as a persistent link to the supporting dataset

NOTE: This may not represent all available data for these subjects - click "Find All Subject Data" to return all data for these subjects.

Data Packaging Page

The Data Packaging Page is an interactive page where you can review summary information about the subject-level data for the cohort you've selected with your Filter Cart. You can see which NDA Collections and Data Structures contain data for your cohort. Once you authenticate, you can see which of those subjects' data you are authorized to access. Authenticated users can also inspect subject-level data, create a data package to download, and/or add subjects to a study. Deselect subjects from an NDA Collections, an individual Dataset within an NDA Collection, or a Data Structure, prior to creating a data package or adding data to an NDA Study.

Organization

Information about available data is organized and displayed by four categories:

  • Permission Groups - Access to shared record-level data in NDA is provisioned at the level of a Permission Group. NDA Permission Groups consist of one or multiple NDA Collections that contain data with the same subject consents.
  • Collections - NDA Collections are virtual containers for data located on the NDA website and are the primary method of organizing data in NDA. They are created by NDA and organized on the basis of source grant, project, and laboratory.
  • Dataset - Data are submitted to an NDA Collection and organized into datasets for each submission and data type. Most datasets are shared with the permission group associated with the collection, but those submitting data will see datasets that have not yet been shared, which are marked as 'private'.
  • Data Structure Category - The types of data that are available for the filters selected are displayed with the specific data structures shown. Each data structure represents a standardized definition of a measure or instrument used by researchers to collect and submit data. Data Structure Category is a grouping of similar Data Structures by phenotype (Depression, ADHD, Psychosis), data type (MRI, eye tracking, omics), or type of measure (physical exam, IQ, cognition). Summary counts of the number of subjects provided are shown.
Authenticated Users

Authenticated users who have access to subject level data (see appropriate website for access) are able to perform additional actions in the Data Packaging Page:

  • Inspection - Users with access to subject level data will see the inspection icon, select this to view tabular data available for each data structures.
  • Create Data Package - For those authenticated, you will be prompted to define a package name and then either create a downloadable data package or define a miNDAR database for the data selected.
  • Add to NDA Study - For those that are looking to publish a finding, provide results of a computational pipeline, the subjects selected may be moved to a Study Cohort.
Find All Subject Data

All Subject Data button will identify all of the measures for the subjects you've selected.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an NDA Data Structure?
An NDA Data Structure is comprised of multiple Data Elements to make up an electronic definition of an assessment, measure, questionnaire, etc will have a corresponding Data Structure.

Glossary

  • NDA Collection
A virtual container and organization structure for data and associated documentation from one grant or one large project/consortium. It contains tools for tracking data submission and allows investigators to define a wide array of other elements that provide context for the data, including all general information regarding the data and source project, experimental parameters used to collect any event-based data contained in the Collection, methods, and other supporting documentation. They also allow investigators to link underlying data to an NDA Study, defining populations and subpopulations specific to research aims.
  • Data Structure Category
An NDA term describing the affiliation of a Data Structure to a Category, which may be disease/disorder or diagnosis related (Depression, ADHD, Psychosis), specific to data type (MRI, eye tracking, omics), or type of data (physical exam, IQ).
